I hold a diploma from the Ontario Ministry of Education as an Art Specialist teacher and a Master of Education in Arts Education degree from the University of Toronto where I specialized in arts curriculum for Ontario schools. After graduation, I was appointed as an arts curriculum consultant acting as a leader in arts education across the curriculum while I continued working and developing as a freelance artist before opening my own studio in 2016.
My work is heavily influenced by my travels and the cultures I have experienced.
I am drawn to bright colours, sweeping line movement and bold patterns, which are often reflected in my pieces.
I am a firm believer in the power of experimentation and play in the artistic process.
I often incorporate unconventional materials and techniques into my work, which allows me to explore new ideas and push the boundaries of my craft.
I am an active member of local art associations. Recently I have been showing and selling my painting with historic Don Valley Art Club and Beach Guild of Fine Art, though I have been showing and selling my mixed media paintings and collagraphs since 2016. Two paintings are on display presently in The Gallery 360.
My work is influenced by the vibrant colours and textures of nature, as well as the emotions and experiences that we all share. I strive to create pieces that are both visually stunning and emotionally impactful.
I begin each piece with a vision in mind, but allow the materials and my instincts to guide me as I work. I believe that the process of creating art should be just as fulfilling as the finished piece.
I combine acrylics, with watercolour, oils, pastels and use a variety of mediums, paints and inks to express the dramatic setting I present.

Born in Toronto, Canada and still living in the heart of this now exciting cosmopolitan city I am an educator and licensed member of the Ontario College of Teachers https://apps.oct.ca/FindATeacher/memberdetail?id=125052
Formally arts educated, I earned undergraduate and postgraduate degrees from the University of Toronto, Bachelor of Arts (B A) 4 yr English Specialist, a Master of Education (M Ed) with an Arts Curriculum focus. I was awarded a diploma naming me a Visual Arts Specialist teacher early in my career. A lead classroom teacher (elementary and secondary panels), area curriculum consultant, and vice principal, I have explored and taught creative and critical thinking though arts education in subjects across the curriculum. I have exposed students and teachers to different 2D and 3D art making strategies. I co-directed an award winning children's choir, organized music festivals and carol singing in the malls. Member of writing teams, wrote music, art, dance and drama curriculum now used in Ontario education.
I developed digital artistic skills, studied marketing communications at the former Ryerson Polytechnical and was a successful print broker and advertising entrepreneur. Now I am a full time painter showing and selling my works in local galleries.

My landscape inspired expressionist paintings are composed of many layers.
I create complex effects in mixed media using a variety of materials hopefully to bring you into the mood I am conveying.
I am happy to hear from viewers that my abstract designs intrigue them. The colours I choose and especially my glossy sweeping lines are intended to illustrate thought provoking drama with dancing play on light.
Thrilled, I share my innermost thoughts with you in my paintings!
I try to capture subtle effects of natural light in the atmosphere to create an expression of mood.
My new paintings may render an abstract narrative inviting the viewer to join in.
I am always growing in my artistic endeavours by exploring smarter ways to express myself. So, as new mark making products attract my attention, I experiment and works change.
Sometimes the finished work is topped with a layer or two of cold wax to render a touch of mystery in the depth shown. Often I finish with high gloss varnish to bring out the depth created in the many translucent layers.
I paint on canvas, wood panel or yupo paper making 1/1 varied edition collagraphs from monoprints on watercolour paper.
